
While being a designer for the brand, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to design Under Armour's fall 2023 iconic collection. This collection is the most elevated and premium allotment of styles given to only the showcase schools partnered with the Under Armour brand. Embellishment types such as applique, embroidery, satin-based patches, and screen print as featured throughout this collection. The range of styles offered starts with heavy premium cotton short & Long sleeve shirts to oversized crewnecks topping off with headwear offered to both genders.
I worked directly with the product design team to alter garment color, add style location, and embellish the university team stripe on parts of the garment as part of making this collection unique. This collection features premium heavy-weight cotton fabrics while implementing the use of cut and sew. The art direction for this collection was spun from 80's and 90's vintage collegiate sideline/fan wear. I drew inspiration and visual emotion from the past success of the university's football teams like the 1993 Wisconsin Badgers winning the Rose Bowl. I looked into what the fans wore to the games back then, and how coaches like Luo Holtz looked on game day during Notre Dame's 1988 national championship run. a priority when I was designing was to use the same vault university logos featured on these legendary sidelines throughout this collection. Graphic size and placement with the implementation of vintage patterns and elements combined with The use of vintage elongated full-block typography completes this as a premium vintage/vault-based graphic collection. These graphics are the property of Under Armour and Hanes Brands.
